Desert Sun Counselling and Resource Centre requires local outreach workers to provide support to women and children leaving abusive relationships. The Safe Home provides short-term accommodation (3-5 days). Workers will be expected to be on call for approximately 3-8 days/month. Workers will receive $0.50/hour to carry the cell phone and $13.50/hour when providing direct service, to be reviewed after 6 months. Responsibilities include: intake and assessment, crisis intervention, liaise with RCMP, Victim Services, CWWA, STV and other agencies. Qualifications: life experience, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, to be confidential, flexible, positive, creative and work with diverse populations.
